Busy Bees was created to offer families a preschool experience where children are truly known.
We believe young children thrive when they feel safe and confident in their environment, have meaningful relationships with their teachers and classmates, and are given opportunities to learn, explore, practice new skills, and become increasingly independent.
Our small, home-based preschool environment allows us to get to know each child as an individual, support meaningful growth, and thoughtfully prepare them for a lifelong love of learning.

Welcome to Busy Bees!
Hello families,
I'm Angela, founder and director of Busy Bees Preschool.
A little bit about me: I am an experienced educator with over 20 years in education, ranging from early childhood development through secondary school. I hold a Master's degree in Teaching and a California Single Subject Teaching Credential in English, and I've spent my career working with students, teachers, and families to create meaningful learning experiences that support individual growth and prepare students for what comes next.
I'm also the proud mom of two boys, which means I experience early childhood not only as an educator, but as a parent. I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for and teaching your child, and I know how much it matters to know that your child is truly known, supported, and valued.
I created Busy Bees because I believe families deserve a preschool experience that feels personalized, rooted in an understanding of how young children learn and develop, and thoughtfully designed to nurture each child's confidence, independence, curiosity, and growth.
At Busy Bees, I have the privilege of bringing together the things I value most about education: meaningful relationships, intentional learning, individual growth, and helping children become confident, curious, kind, capable, and increasingly independent learners.

At Busy Bees Preschool San Diego, we believe the preschool years provide an important foundation for a child's future success in school and beyond.
Our approach combines intentional, developmentally appropriate instruction with the exploration, movement, creativity, and relationships young children need to thrive.
Children are active participants in their learning. Throughout the preschool day, they have opportunities to listen, talk, create, investigate, practice, move, make choices, solve problems, and develop new skills.
We also recognize that every child develops at a different pace and brings their own personality, strengths, interests, and needs into the classroom. Our small preschool environment allows us to get to know each child as an individual and thoughtfully support their growth from where they are while preparing them for what comes next.

Assessment at Busy Bees is designed to help us understand and support each child's development, not to create pressure or compare children to one another. Children's skills and progress are observed regularly through teacher observation, classroom activities, student work, and developmentally appropriate skill checks.
This ongoing information helps us celebrate growth, identify developing skills, determine where additional practice may be helpful, and thoughtfully plan instruction based on the needs of the children in our classroom.
